Who can apply?

This law is designed for the descendants of Sephardic Jews who after completing the corresponding application will recover their right to acquire a Portuguese nationality by naturalization and their integration into the national community, with their corresponding rights and obligations.

What is the Sephardic Law?

Based on the Regulation for Portuguese Nationality, this country approved the Law No. 30-A/February 27, 2015, in which the Portuguese government granted the right to apply for Portuguese nationality by naturalization to Sephardic Jews and their descendants, in order to repair the historical persecution and expulsion under the Inquisition.
